In 1969 at the age of 17, Geoffrey Harris walked into Habitat in London’s Fulham Road and got his first job at £15.00 a week! The job was in the lighting department. He has been selling lighting ever since having ‘got the bug’ at an early age.

Coincidentally most of the major Italian lighting companies were still in their infancy at that time and Geoffrey has seen the birth of many of what are today regarded as classic twentieth century lighting products.

Geoffrey Harris Lighting Ltd was established as a retail shop in Battersea in 1999. We have been trading from our website since June 2003. This is our much improved and updated site launched in January 2006.

You will notice a certain retro feel to the selection of lighting that we sell. A very high proportion of our stock uses ordinary light bulbs – we do not sell anything that uses a transformer (less to go wrong!).

The stock at Geoffrey Harris Lighting aims to be timeless - good quality proprietary objects - like our enamel Paris shades or plain card lampshades. Along side these staples we also sell classic lights that we consider to be items that have stood the test of time - the classic Louis Poulsen range from Denmark, the Bestlite range from the 1930s and of course the Tolomeo range of task lights from Artemide.

Everything that you see on this website is on display in our shop in Battersea, just a few hundred yards from Battersea Park.
