The Danish company Le Klint was originally formed in 1943 to sell the family’s artistically pleated lampshades. Its first major success came in 1944 when Kaare Klint designed the Le Klint 101, more commonly known as the ‘fruit lantern’, and today still one of the most popular designs sold by Le Klint. Several famous designers and architects worked with the company and they continued to launch landmark pendant light shades such as Poul Christiansen’s 1971 Le Klint 172 shade.
